Postman - Albert Cross

Albert Cross, postman at Halstead for 36 years, is seen here opening the post box at Bentalls Farm, Sudbury Road a few days before his retirement in 1980. He was well known and loved by many in the town and surrounding villages, whilst delivering the letters and parcels he always had a cheary word for folk.
