Chimney Sweep - Alec Andrews recommend to a friend

Alec Andrews was very well known in the locality as a chimney sweep. He took over the business of another sweep Elymas Newton, when he returned home from active service after World War II. His first mode of transport was a pony and trap from which he progressed to a motor bike with a box on the front to carry the brushes and rods. By the time of his death in 1979 he transported himself in the comfort of a car. Whilst clearing the chimneys of soot and bird's nests he would entertain his customers with talk of his experiences and send children outside to wait for the brush to appear from the chimney pot.
